5 Steps to Safely Regain Images
The following tutorial displays how to perform the recovery on a Mac computer for your Galaxy Note 4. The process is identical when running Dr.Fone on a Windows computer. Remember to connect the device and open the utility before following the steps provided below.
Step 1: Choose the Gallery File Type. Uncheck every file type except Gallery after the phone has been successfully identified. You will see a checkmark within each checkbox and only Gallery is needed for this tutorial. After this has been done, click Next to advance to the next recovery task.
Step 2: Configure the Recovery Mode. You have multiple recovery mode choices for retrieving images from the phone. Dr.Fone for Android is able to locate only deleted photos or everything currently stored in the gallery. To make a selection, click on an option within the Standard Recovery Mode section.
If for some reason the standard options do not find the needed photo(s), you can run the scan again using the Advanced Recovery Mode option. After a recovery mode has been chosen, click on Next.
Step 3: Scan for Recoverable Photos. To initiate the scan, click on Next in the bottom right corner. First, Dr.Fone will analyze your device and apply one-click root. Then it will scan the connected Galaxy Note 4 for recoverable images.
Once scanning has begun, you will be able to monitor the progress of the scan within the progress bar at the top of the screen. Click on Gallery during the scan to begin seeing what photos have been found.
Step 4: Select Images to Restore. Dr.Fone selects every image found by the scan for recovery. If you want to restore everything, just click on the Recover Button.
To remove this selection and customize the recovery, uncheck the box to the left of Gallery in the utility and then click on Gallery to preview the scan results. Located images will appear on the right of the utility and can be selected individually.
Another option is to leave Gallery checked and then click on each item you do not want to recover on the right side of the utility. When Gallery is not selected (checked), then nothing will be selected on the screen. Photos currently chosen for recovery will have a checkmark, as displayed in the screenshot below:
Additional options are provided for changing the view at the top right of Dr.Fone for Android. Scan results may be viewed as a thumbnail or in a list format by clicking on one of these options.
To select a photo, click on the image and a blue circle with a checkmark will appear in the top right corner of the thumbnail. If in list view, simply check the box next to the file in the list.
A search field is provided as well for entering text and locating a specific image(s). Just click on the field to type in the desired text and matching results will immediately be displayed on the screen. Click on the X to cancel the search and remove currently entered text.
Step 5: Finish Retrieving the Gallery Images. The photos are not actually recovered until you have clicked on the Recover button and chosen a save directory. After doing so, Dr.Fone will restore the selected images to the configured save directory on your computer.
