Dr.Fone for Android offers a Mac and Windows operating system install. Please make certain you have installed the right version and then connect the phone to your computer. For this tutorial, the process will be completed on a Mac but the tasks remain the same regardless of what operating system is used.
Step 1: Configure a Gallery Scan. The first step will be to select the file types that Dr.Fone will look for in the connected device. You will need to remove all selections except the Gallery file type. This can be done by clicking the checkbox next to each item and removing their corresponding checkmarks. Then click Next to continue to the subsequent recovery step.
Step 2: Make a Recovery Mode Selection. Before scanning may be started, Dr.Fone will need to know what you want to recover. The utility is able to scan for every gallery item or just deleted photos only. These options can be found underneath the Standard Recovery Mode.
It is recommended to try one of these options first and then proceed to the Advanced Recovery Mode if ever the photos cannot be found. Click Next after making a selection.
Step 3: Complete Scanning. Click on the Start button residing in the bottom right corner to allow Dr.Fone to analyze your device. Once this process is finished, the scan will start on its own.
A progress bar is provided at the top of the utility window and can be used to monitor the progress of the scan. To view the results while scanning is being performed, click on Gallery in the left panel.
Step 4: Select Any or All Images for Recovery. After scanning, you will see a checkmark in the box next to Gallery along with a number enclosed in parenthesis. This shows the image count and the checkmark indicates that all results have been selected for recovery. To restore all items, simply click on the Recover button.
To make your own selections, first remove the checkmark from Gallery and then click on it to view the scan results. The results will appear on the right of the screen and may be previewed as a thumbnail or a list.

To change the view to a list format, use the View options in right corner at the top of the utility.
